Creating Floral Installations for Weddings & Events
At Emma Hewlett Floral Design, we specialise in bespoke Floral Installations for weddings and events.
Be it in a church doorway or a centrepiece suspended in a marquee, we like to think outside the box with all our floral installation designs.
This way of styling wedding flowers has become a big trend over recent years with venues having more facilities to allow us to 'go bold.'

What is a Floral Installation?
When we say 'floral installation', we mean anything that sits outside the standard remit of wedding decor. Oversized, large statement pieces that more often than not require special mechanics and rigging within the venue.
Where can Floral Installations be used?
Personally I think this sort of design works fabulously in a marquee, a blank canvas, giving you more scope to be as adventurous as you like. Most marquee companies have the facility to allow for things to be suspended from the ceiling but if not, think about the entrance... glam it up with a floral arch, consider using trees and plants to bring the outside into the space.
I also feel that larger gatherings lends itself to statement floral pieces. If you have lots and lots of guest tables to consider decorating why not go for something wow in the ceiling and more subtle on the tables.
It also doesn't have to be one great big floral installation... We've been developing the 'flower bomb!' A smaller version of the 'floral cloud' allowing you to have more than one decorating the room.

Suspended & Floating Floral Installations
Often working on suspended pieces, we build frame works unique to the clients requirements. We then consider the loads and dynamics on the rigging system needed to hold these pieces in place safely. You can rest knowing that we are qualified in what we do and safety is on the top of our list when creating these pieces.
We find ourselves creating lots of hanging installs so working from height is something we have to be comfortable with and we are very lucky to have a selection of ladders allowing us to get to heights that you just might not think about.
Why have a Floral Installation?
Installation designs can really set your wedding or event apart from the rest. You can be so unique with your thinking and we are happy to create bespoke, one off pieces just for you. If your venue doesn't allow to have anything suspended then think fireplaces, staircases, archways, floral meadows and garlands.
We are extremely lucky to work with lots of local suppliers providing us with amazing venues, backdrops and marquees to get creative with.
If you are having a marquee wedding and fancy an install, chat to the marquee company as often they have pre build mechanics that we can come in and dress for you.
Lighting in Floral Installations
Lighting also plays an important role in our designs adding colour, texture and depth to our floral designs. Be it hanging pendants, festoon and fairy lights or coloured uplighters enhancing or installations or venue features. We have a selection of our own lighting available to hire but also have the knowledge to design lighting into your whole day.
Sustainable & Dried Floral Installations
At Emma Hewlett Floral Design our floral installations are built foam free in our continued effort to lower our impact on the environment.
And it's not just fresh flowers we work with, dried flowers are a massive part of our work, creating pieces for homes, shops, restaurants and pubs.
The beauty of dried is they last and we can often make the designs for you to take home...who doesn't want a dried floral cloud hanging in their living space.
Whatever your thoughts for creating something unique for your day, contact us and we will chat through design ideas, sketches, colours and materials. No idea is too crazy for us and if we don't have the mechanics...we make it!
