Happy New Year from Emma Hewlett Floral Design

luxury wedding flowers

2025 is bringing an array of beautiful weddings, studio reset, monthly musings and lots more.

Well welcome to 2025! We’ve made it through the busy festive season that has been filled with winter weddings, Christmas florals and celebrating a busy 2024.

DeCember at Emma Hewlett Floral design

Before our final few weddings, I treated the amazing team of freelancers to an early Christmas treat. The very lovely Liv at Stowford Flowers who has worked on many of our weddings allowed us into her space where I organised a watercolour workshop with the fabulous Harriet DeWinton from DeWinton Paper Co. Such a relaxing time well spent with the girls and my way of saying thank you for all their hard work and dedication to our weddings.

Our ending to 2024 saw us styling weddings at the fabulous Anran, a true favourite of ours to work at, along with another couple of weddings at The Great Barn and Rockbeare Manor.

Anran provided a lush backdrop for a foliage filled wedding reception, with ceremony and bridal party filled with classic white florals. Rockbeare Manor’s wedding had also chosen a white floral palette with a hint of blue and daisies.

The Great barn wedding was full of disco vibes with no whiff of a Christmas theme. The couple chose a fantastic palette of bright pinks, oranges and a mix of purple. Totally wild but we absolutely LOVED it.

What does 2025 at Emma hewlett floral design look like?

As a wedding florist the beginning of the year is always a quiet time with regards to flowers, instead we use this time for sorting, organising, cleaning the studio space and lots and lots of admin.

The first job on the list (when its a little warmer) is working on refreshing the studio space. When we work so hard throughout the summer the work space can take a big hit with items being pushed into every nook and cranny. It’s also a time to assess our stock of items. Our urns and plinths often need a refresh of paint, glassware needs a good clean and we tend to look at things/vessels we no longer use.

This year for the first time ever I will be holding a ‘yard/studio’ sale where I’ll be selling off lots of items we no longer use. If you’re a fellow florist or maybe just starting out on your flower journey we could have lots of useful things for you to purchase.

Keep your eyes peeled on social media for more details.

book your consultation with us early

These beginning months are always key for our admin. Time to create new image boards, talk flower details, plan with local growers, finalise design plans and venue visits. If you are keen to discuss flowers with us now is the best time. The diary is ready to be filled with meetings and catch ups. Drop us an email and we can book in that phone call or meet up.

Spring onwards…

Once Springtime arrives so do weddings and we have a wonderful wedding season ahead with a gorgeous mix of florals. We continue to push our sustainability within our business and 2025 will be another year working with so many epic flower growers sitting locally to our studio. Using British allows our designs to be unique, natural and wildly beautiful. You can read more about how we work with British and local flowers in our British flowers blog here.

As ever we will continue to document our journey and work on social media, allowing you all to see the process and hard work that goes into creating wedding flowers along with all the beautiful blooms we have. In the busy months you’ll find us posting behind the scenes stories on Instagram and posting images of all the fabulous Devon weddings we get involved with. You can follow us on Instagram @emmahewlettfloraldesign

I will also personally sending my monthly musings here on the journal, giving you another insight to life as a busy event florist.

We do have plenty of other things in the pipeline for this year but will release more information later as we are still in planning stages.

The current thought whizzing in my mind personally is ‘Do I tackle Mother’s day this year?’ I’ve spent the last 14 years enjoying being a mum on Mother’s day but is now the time to give back to all those other wonderful mum’s out there? Follow socials for all up to date info.

And finally

Even though we have only just started 2025, I can now happily announce that the Emma Hewlett Floral Design diary is open for 2026!! Although the diary is open please note that we are only taking on a select number of weddings currently so if you are keen to work with us, don’t delay in getting in touch.

Thanks for reading.
